Very disappointing, the website makes it sounds like there’s no need to worry about hiring tradespeople from their website as they are all checked, in reality this just means they got a proof of address, this is better than nothing hence the two rather than one stars, but basically the guy I hired through their website is a right con artist and going back and reading the small print on all the websites “guarantees“ they’re no good if the so called builder has just run off with your deposit, don’t make my mistaken and assume that you’ll get a good reputable builder from this site if my experience is anything to go by it seems in fact your more likely to get a chancer looking to con you for a fast buck. Just hope the debt collection agency I’ve now had to hire can get my money back from the sorry excuse of a tradesperson this site was allowing on it.
Had a new roof installed by a company called hi line home improvement Ltd by Micheal cocoran. Scammed me off £4500. Absolutely butchered my roof where it was leaking before it's still leaking 2 years later.... Refuse to take responsibility. Absolutely conned me. So now I have to get the roof re Don again.
Hi All They closed up my account with 21 excellent reviews and they not giving the reason of closing my account . I did pay every single job I have been shortlisted . So end of the story I call my builder thieves (as they charge lot) or useless site .
There are a lot of time wasters asking tradesman to paint a whole flat for £200 including materials. Please check clients details and make sure they are official because we pay to be shortlisted and the result is time wasters asking us to paint a whole room for £70. Most of my colleague who are registered to this app are having similar issues.
I have hired an electrician via MyBuilder.com to replace my fuse box and issue the certificate. In MyBuilder.com shows he is P registered that means he can issue certificates. All agreed, the guy came and did the work, got the money and promised to send the certificate later. After two days, he said that he cannot issue any certificate as his license is expired. When I checked with NICEIC, I was told the guy has never obtained licence to issue a certificate. He applied but his application was rejected. It seems he managed to use and show his electric course plus GAS P register to MyBuilder and list himself as a P register qualified. Then he mislead people and get clients for P registered work for electricity as well. When clearly he is not eligible to do it. In have contacted MyBuilder.com and I was told the description field is not under their control so they can add whatever they want. I believe if an engineer take a job that they should not take it legally, MyBuilder should ban them of using their platform permanently. I used MyBuilder before and I had a good experience, however this is serious matter. I’ll update the review once I see a proper action from MyBuilder.com Job no: 9656273
